For Immediate Release

New York, NY – Rotate NYC and Bar 13 along with DJ, Producer and Owner of New York based techno label, Hidden Recordings, Deepak Sharma announce a quarterly residency for 2009, with the first party scheduled for December 5th, 2008.

Past guests of Rotate NYC include Efdemin [Dial-Berlin], MyMy [Playhoue-Berlin], Luca Bacchetti [Wagon Repair-Italy], Chloé [Karat, Kill the DJ-Paris] and Craig Richards [Fabric-London] (after hours). Moving into 2009 Rotate NYC is continuing in a collaborative spirit to keep underground music firmly within Manhattan. The quarterly residency with Hidden Recordings and a DJ series featuring Diynamic Records [Hamburg] perfectly unites the organizers dedication to fostering relationships with those at home and abroad.

“This season is about tying together communities and building ways for talented people to exchange music and ideas. By working with Hidden Recordings we are establishing a new level of dedication to the party, the community and the talent that this label represents.” says Memo Erkaya, General Manager of Bar 13 and Rotate NYC Host.

The night will showcase Hidden Recordings artists along with Deepak DJing combined with a Rotate NYC resident opening. The parties will be in conjunction with future release dates from the label. The first party will include guest artist Karri O, who also produced the 6th release, with Deepak and production partner, Dieter Krause completing the remix. The opening will be handled by Rotate NYC’s resident Geovanni.

Rotate NYC and Bar 13 are a natural fit for Hidden Recordings and me to begin my residency. I love the venue, the sound system, and vibe and have had many great nights there. This is a great opportunity to continue the growth and momentum Hidden Recordings has established over the past year while providing more awareness to clubbers in New York City.” Says Deepak.

Hidden Recordings is owned by Deepak Sharma with partner Dieter Krause, and is one of the fastest rising and growing techno labels. Since 2006 Hidden Recordings has provided a wide range of techno to hundreds of DJs and fans. The label’s sound ranges from deep techno to atmospheric chill-out with quirky, groovy bass lines and has been played in big rooms and festivals, to smaller lounges and early morning terraces. Hidden Recordings has five releases available, with Argentina’s Gustavo Lamas completing the fifth release and Finland’s Karri O completing the 6th. Forthcoming artist releases include Lineas De Nazca and Monkey Brothers with Deepak and Dieter on remix duties. Major worldwide partners include Beatport, Kompakt, Juno, DanceRecords and HRFQ.

The press has taken notice of the duo’s rising popularity, with AOL Music’s Spinner.com comparing their sound and style to minimal techno giants Lusine, Superpitcher and Booka Shade. In addition the duo has been reviewed in prominent magazines such as XLR8R, DJ Times, Time Out New York, MixMag (UK), Trax (France) and Raveline (Germany), licensed music to UK label Four-Twenty for their Music02 mix compilation and peaked as high as #3 on the Balance Record Pool Top 50 Chart. Global recognition continues to mount as their tracks have reached Top 20 downloads on Germany’s Kompakt-MP3, and Top 10 downloads on HRFQ in Japan. In 2007, Deepak and Dieter produced music for Singapore’s Ogilvy & Mather advertising agency and their client, Heineken Global.

"Recorre" (Hidden Recordings)

005HR-Gustavo Lamas-Recorre w. Remix by Deepak Sharma and Dieter Krause
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can count Hidden Recordings' output on the fingers of one hand—this latest single, from Argentine artist Gustavo Lamas, is release number five—but even with that minuscule discography, the label has garnered plenty of attention among fans of deep techno and electronic house. "Recorre," with a choir of shimmering synths weaving its melodic way through the track's simple bassline and percussion, will do little to quiet that buzz. Hidden honchos Deepak Sharma and Dieter Krause handle the remix, taking the track to a slightly darker place via a pulsating low end, subtle guitar work and a flood of reverb, while retaining its inherently Elysian feel.

Deepak Sharma plays at Rotate NYC Fri 1.

Here is some feedback on the release:
"Great release, the original is both energetic and beautiful, full of summer flavor. And the remix works the tune into an equally energetic, but deeper stomper. I dig it. Well done."
(Karri O, Respoal, Trenton Records, Thoughtless Music, Lebensfreude Records, Helsinki, Finland)

"Fantastic tune, already playing it. Nice production, clean sound. I like it! Perfect for the first hour."
(Monkey Brothers, Regular Label, Tendenzia, Barcelona, Spain)

"Feeling the original mix. A really subtle moving piece. Especially
feeling those dubbed out vocal samples that filter in at the end."
(Greg Shiff, The Vacationist, Persona Records, Ironbox, Calima, Brooklyn NY)

Sharma & Krause drop an eccentric underground production that delivers
smooth vibes while still keeping a bouncey feeling. Three tracks
grace this EP with Dust In Space being our pick here with its
Full-bodied bass, subtle tribal groove and haunting spoken vocals.
Palace In The Sun delivers a little more of that chill house sound with
its way cool guitar piece. Finally Garam Masala is a dark drum-laden
piece with bits of electro hits throughout. This EP is for the chill
in you.

- Phil Turnipseed - DJ Times, June 2008

" Cowboy music for astronauts! Nice."
- Greg Shiff (The Vacationist, Persona Records, Ironbox, Brooklyn, New York )

"Dust in space original and palace in the sun are fantastic tracks, congratulations! Full support 8/10"
-Juame Pages (Regular, Irregular Label, Barcelona , Spain )

"Great stuff, all three tracks are solid work. The deep, melodic Garam Masala and Palace In The Sun are my favorites, perfect tunes for the spring time. Garam Masala will work well on the dancefloor for sure. Dust In Space works well like the two other tunes but sounds more like a mix of a couple different themes. All nice work."
-Karri O (Resopal, Monorecords, Plong, Lebensfreude, Helsinki , Finland )

" Palace In The Sun is beautiful, and most definitely going in the crate!"
-Royale (Dope Recordings, Denver CO)

"I'm feeling the "Garam Masala" track. Great rhythm - really rolls along."
-Tyler Stadius (Fabric, Vancouver , BC )

"These sound great"
-Ben Korbel (Sounds.net, Sydney Australia)

"Love these. Deep, hypnotic but with a nice groovy kick to them! Nice work"
- Steve Costa (Ffour Nightclub, Melbourne , Australia )

003HR Club of Millionaires Cover

Here's a short description of Gotham Nights:

Gotham Nights is a combination of deep techno and minimal inspired by the infamous late nights in NY and Berlin where the crazies and criminals come play. A darker, gritty peak hour track that will rattle a big room and shake the ears with buzzing synths, big drums, lound snares and offset with a delicate melody that will keep the groove of the track pushing forward.
